Default Age isn't a factor

There were a couple of times in practices in scrimmage situations where nothing was open downfield and Beck would take off running and outrun the entire defense (granted, speed wasn't the strength of our defense in 2004 or 2005, but still).

Wendell thinks John can get his time into the 4.6 range, and I don't think that's out of the question. Right now the only questions I think scouts should have with Beck is his age and his durability.
The NFL takes old QB's all the time. If they think Beck can play, they won't hesitate to take him early. He's 26, but you can play QB into your 40s. This is a complete non-factor IMO. Heck, how old was Steve Young by the time he got to the NFL? He must have been 25 or so.

The contrary to that is Steve Young was already playing pro football while Beck was still in college.

Also, a team is much less likely to draft a 'franchise' QB who is 26 than one who is 22.

Now, age isn't a complete negative in that Beck is more mature and may be more ready to play. But teams will also use age to say that he is more of a finished product than somebody who can progress and get a lot better.

More love for Beck. Glad to see the kid getting some shine time.
