I found this quote by Nibley that you should show to the stake president about his hair cut standards for the youth.

See that is what I have been doing these last two years growing my hair. I am trying to cleanse the faith of its unhealthy predilections for short hair white shirts and pasty white skin. (okay I still have pasty white skin). Right on Nibs.

those words are all too appropriate in today's political climate.

the essay that quote comes from is one of the ones in "Approaching Zion"

that is a great book - a must read for ultra-capitalist members

You guys need to get it through your thick skulls once and for all. GOD HATES BEARDS AND COLORED SHIRTS! He has to keep taking time out of his busy schedule and put less important issues like child hunger, disease, and war to send revelation to the Bishops and Stake Presidents to tell the members to shave and wear white shirts. Please, for the sake of the children, just shave and wear the proper attire.

P.S. God kills a kitten every time a beard enters his church.

Nibley's cultural criticisms were insightful. It's too bad that those who most need to read them, those who refuse to examine their own cultural biases and who call those who do "whiners," are the least likely to have read them.

On Nibley's terms, when someone is going on about the need to wear white shirts or have "proper" haircuts you're probably dealing with a manager and not a leader.
