The way these suspensions were handled (no games missed for So'oto, 1 game for Hooks) bodes well for the football program. It reflects to me that Bronco's gospelization of BYU football has paid off in that he appears to have as much clout with the honor code office as Lavell used to in his heyday.

There was a time, imo, when these charges would have been enough to get a player dismissed from BYU. The fact that Bronco was able to handle the incident in-house without any additional issues tells me that our huge problems with player attrition in the last decade may be a thing of the past...

I also dig that it pissed off Mr. Crimson.

I'm not concerned with how Mendenhall handled this, as he handed out the punishment he felt was deserved.

Of course, should two Ute footballers do something similar, will Cougar Nation not worry about how Whittingham (or the law for that matter) as well?

No. If two Ute footballers (do you guys even have a soccer team?) are arrested it is because they are thugs and Kyle Whittingham is an enabler.

I suppose you may be correct. Of course, Whittingham is a product of BYU. I guess it all comes full circle, eh?

To this day I give Oscar Meyer kudos for the way he swept Savoy's lack of eligibility all season long under the carpet.
