Tex is in a sense correct. Greece and Rome had slaves, etc. I don't believe women were enfranchised. But I'm fairly confident Tex would have defended slavery or at least Plessy v. Ferguson as well as female disenfranchisement in their day based on some biblical precedents just as he today defends Gestapo-style interrogation techniques by our government.

I do not agree with Plessy, and I'm pleased women have the vote.

You and Barbara really are stuck on the Nazi references. Can your minds not stretch to any other examples?

It's so hard for nutty leftists to accept that we conservatives actually have a moral core.

Tex - Barbara is not a liberal, nor is Seattle. I'm not sure where Barbara is, but if there is a category of "secular right", that would be Seattle, IMO.

You, like me, are farther to the right of center, though I think I can say that I'm to the left of you.

Using Right and Left as labels is too black and white, IMO.

It's kind of sad watching someone have his ass handed to him in an argument, and he doesn't even realize it.

Then it's a point they share in common with the leftists, Padrino. In another thread today, Mike Waters idiotically accuses me of defending the sodomizing of prisoners, meanwhile Barbara (with whom I have no quarrel and yet who has been very unkind) suggests that I have the mindset of a Nazi.

And yet is some weird way in the Alternative Universe of Cougarguard, I am the most hateful and condescending poster, ever. Coming from some of you on this board, that seems to be a compliment.

That's because you stick your head in the sand and tell yourself "abuses were only conceived at the grunt level, abuses were only conceived at the grunt level."

You're just simply not intellectually honest, and that's why you are tiresome.

I think in order to have one's head in the sand, one would have to be willfully ignorant of the facts. I read your Hersh article (among many others), sentence by sentence.

If you want to go point-by-point with me, by all means. But to act as though I favor the Abu-Ghraib-style of prisoner mistreatment is just as intellectually dishonest and tiresome as you accuse me of being.

Could repeat that part about intellectual honesty again for me?
