The U and Y have a symbiotic relationship. Both need the the other in order to survive in collegiate athletics.

Actually, no, I would not like that. I think most Utah fans would hate to see the program shut down. You gotta keep the rivalry going.

But I find it laughable that you and Mike just proposed for the rest of the athletic department to join the Big Sky. E. Washington, Sacramento, N. Colorado, Montana, Montana State, Weber State and Portland State does not seem like a great fit, financially or athletically...but hey, whatever floats your boat.

Actually, I don't believe that either. Utah would continue on with the Y...and BYU would continue on without the U. With that said, I do think they strengthen each other and come expansion time, both will be important for the other.

How is that for a doomsday scenario.
No I just explained that financially it does make sense. It only doesn't make sense for the competitiveness for the other programs. And we just went through one Crowton era and came out as economically viable as ever.

Only one side believes this.

It would provide a way for the other teams/sports to get into the NCAA tourneys and then football would not need to share half of its revenue with a tag-along league. Let’s be real for a moment. BYU, Utah and TCU are carrying this league financially.

This is probably a more accurate statement, but it is fun to tell some folks that BYU needs Utah.

Trolling face-to-face. Don't see much of that.
