btw, the thing where the husband works, the wife stays home with the kids, and when the husband returns home, the wife alternatively ignores and screams at her husband, as well as pointing to a TV-dinner saying "HEAT IT UP YOURSELF!" is a purely American invention.

That's frightening. One of the more entertaining parts of Jessop's book is her description of this family of girls that move in to the community that completely live the rules in this book. Even many of the FLDS girls would mock them for it. When polygamists have room to mock you, there's something seriously amiss...
