But, I look at it this way....if you are going into a new QB situation, not bad having Mustain and Sanchez as your two horses. Plus, SC's o-line will be fantastic again, so that helps, too. As you said, how many 3 and 4 stars do they have waiting to start? Ultimately, my biggest faith is in PC. He and Sark will get it done. It is tough for SC to maintain this momentum, but it has been a fun ride, esp after 20 years of mostly not being very good at all. Fight On!

Palmer was replaced by ? Leinhart. Leinhart was replaced by ? booty. Now booty is being replaced by a much less ? imo in Sanchez. These guys were surrounded by such great athletes that it lessens the importance of the QB being dead on. I liked the fire and desire I saw in Sanchez is his time on the field. USC will be fine.

Does anyone else think it's not coincidence that Carroll is considering positions in the NFL? He is the single best coach in college FB. No matter what the Falcons offer, USC would match it. If he leaves, I'd wager he's caught wind that things could get ugly with the NCAA investigation. |

I hope they open up the QB competition; if Mustain gets a fair go, he could beat Sanchez out. |

This is the only way he can keep recruiting so well....underclassmen really get to play if they are good. Rey Mauluga is another example. Cushing. Jarrett. reggie bush. The list goes on and on of Sophomores and sometimes freshman who get significant PT if they are good. The best scenario for SC is that Mustain DOES challenge hard for the QB spot. I recall he was a pretty mobile QB during his stint at Arkansas, and that was with SEC defenses chasing him all over. Would be cool to see how much of that he has retained. You can call it Southern California, SC, USC. Just not Southern Cal. I think it stems from not wanting to be associated with Cal up north.

On Sunday, the guy I know said he was gone, he may change his mind though. You would think that after seeing what happened to Fred Matua, that he would learn his lesson.
