Some of the things I have seen is making me lean to choice, not necessity.

For instance, I hear our OOC schedule in 2013 and 2014 has Hawaii, USU and BSU on it. Yuk.

Sorry, but I feel like they are like the hot dog vendor that chooses to sell low quality hot dogs at high quality prices, because they can.

If they can fine, but don't tout yourself as the hot dog vendor with the highest integrity in the business.
Check here for Announced Future Games.

I've read several statements where Holmoe has said they expect NI to be the last D1AA team they will schedule. I certainly hope so.

2009: @ASU, FSU, USU I'm OK with, regardless of the fourth team.
2010: Washington, @FSU, @USU I'm OK with, regardless of the fourth team.
2011: @Washington, ASU, USU, @Army I'm actually excited about.
2012: @BSU, Washington, USU, Army I'm excited about, especially if we actually have SEVEN HOME GAMES.

Obviously, the years following 2012 will need some filling in, but I'd be surprised to find less than two BCS teams on the schedule these years.

2013: BSU
2014: @BSU
2015: BSU

I'm not as demanding as some are - I'm OK with two BCS teams (hopefully decent ones, though that's hard to guaruntee when you schedule 3+ years in advance) and two non-BCS teams, especially if I have some vested interest in the non-bcs team (BSU, USU, other natural-ish rivalries).

However, I think the driving force in the search for a team to replace Nevada was that it had to be a home game.
Personally, I would have been very upset if BYU shorted me a home game this year. I'd rather watch NI at home than watch BYU play at Tulane on TV. Ugh.
