Would you let your kid
go to a Halloween party at his friend's church on a Sunday night?
We just had our ward Halloween party tonight. We invited one of my son's friends from school. I picked him up and when I brought him home his dad invited my son to go with them to their church party on Sunday. Normally we wouldn't do that type of thing on Sunday, but I don't want to be rude or come across like we're too good for their actvity or something. He's a single dad and we've had his kid over to play a few times. I think he'd really like the opportunity to reciprocate. I don't know. What would you do? |

I'd allow it just because the kid's dad invited your son. I see nothing wrong with it. The other boy's dad is including your son, just as you included his son.

As long as none of the kids wear pajamas to the party I see nothing wrong with it.

I would allow it, but might include a gentle reminder, that you're greatly honored and your son will look forward to it, especially because he isn't ordinarily allowed to do it on Sunday.

This is a pretty good approach. More important is that your son understands that it's an exception, than the dad.

That's a tough one. We generally have a "No Parties on Sunday!" rule, but there will always be exceptions. This sounds like a good one.
YOhio makes a good point on the pajamas.

And he had fun and I'm glad he went. Thanks for the advice.
