I don't have a problem with the press asking Romney to explain how his religious beliefs will impact his potential presidency. And I could see reasonable voters not wanting to vote for someone who refuses to answer those questions.

But I wonder if enough Americans read or care about Slate or Chris Hitchins and other similar viewpoints for this type of perspective to make a difference.
Remember, the masses are asses (thank you whoever it was who gave me that quotation).
