Good news for Romney
http://www.politico.com/news/stories/0108/7861.html
However, the real question mark is how many democrats will vote in the primary to try and affect the vote. |

http://www.realclearpolitics.com/epo...imary-237.html The good news for Romney is that things appear to be trending better for him. All these are recent polls and paint a much more positive picture than those listed just three days ago, which were very dated. It looks very close and Huckabee could be fading. I wonder if McCain's remarks on jobs in Michigan aren't hurting him. It takes a lot of explaining to get to the point he's trying to make; not a good idea when talking about such an emotionally charged issue during a campaign. Sometimes this "straight talk" crap can bite you right in the butt.

More comment. "Jobs" and "economy" play right to Romney's strengths. He actually has a successful record that he can tout. When Huckabee does his shtick about "who do you want, the guy that looks like the guy that fired you or the guy you work with," Romney should come right back with how people should vote for the guy that has a track record of creating economic benefits for people, wealth and jobs. I think Cali mentioned something similar a few days back.
I have no idea how much Romney is spending and what his message is in Michigan, but with a recession looming, it's the economy stupid. Michigan should be the perfect storm for him. Time to quit trying to capture the religious conservative vote.

Agreed. Romney needs to start talking about what he can do for the economy - no other candidate can even come close to holding Romney's business jock.

Which polls are those? I don't follow the polls enough to be aware of any of them, but I do know that the guy I would vote for isn't doing well at all.
