Default GBH spoke to us man to man, TSM has a habit of talking down to us

Let's hope the new mantle elevates his style.

It's like he is talking to children. Review his texts and watch his delivery, it cannot be denied.

Well that's a reasonable position to take.

I somewhat agree. I can't pinpoint what it is about Pres. Monson's style but it is not as intimate/personal as Pres. Hinckley's was. I like Pres. Monson, it's not a dig. Just my feeling of their speaking styles.

Doesn't matter to me. You have players' coaches, and you have non-players' coaches.

Both can be effective coaches.

Those of you that are Romney supporters--he really doesn't connect well with people. Are you saying she shouldn't be president as a result, or that he would be less effective?

My mission president was not a "connector", but he was very effective and respected.

I don't know if you're talking to me or not, but I'll answer.

1. I'm not saying Monson would be less effective president than Hinckley, just that he has something quirky about his speaking style that to me doesn't feel as personal or intimate. I do think it's important to connect personally with the prophet, but not the most important thing. And Monson can find his own way to do this that is different than Hinckley.
2. I rarely listen to the president of the US speak or seek to be inspired from said speeches. I am only affected by him as how he governs, so speaking ability is not important to me as a president. I've never felt a personal connection to a US president.
