Trading outside of their league. They don't want the guy to come back and haunt them.

The Mets stole him, this is highway robbery. Seriously look at the numbers.

Santana (became a full time starter in 2002) since then:

90-40 with a 2.92 era and 1300 strikeouts (200+ per season)

The prospects:

Carlos Gomez OF- 125 at bats last year for the Mets he hit .232, career high average in the minors was .281.

Phil Humber P- Career minorleague record of under .500, went 11-9 with a 4.99 era in Class A ball.

Deolis Guerra- posted a 4.08 era in 90 innings of Class A ball last year. (the only bright spot for him is that he just turned 18.

Kevin Mulvey- went 11-10 with a 3.22 era in double A ball last year.

Not one of these guys is even one of the Mets top 5 prospects.
