Default Is Granada Hills a decent area?

Anyone know anything about Granada Hills area? Are the public schools any good? How are the wards? Lots of families with kids?

How about Mission Hills also? Or northern LA County in general?

Not planning on anything yet. Just curious because my firm does have an office down there, and housing costs in those areas are much cheaper than here.

Here is one of the many things I will never get about California. Why is it more expensive to live in Central (Bay Area), Northern (Sacramento) areas than in Southern California. It seems that Southern Cal would be a much more desireable place to live.

I dont see Sac on that list, unless it has now become "the bay area"

I don't know where Sac would fall; in terms of overall metro area Sac is not considered a large city. All things considered, medium cities like Santa Barbara would rank in the top 5.

Sac is considerably less expensive than So Cal. Except Riverside/ San Bernardino which is probably quite similar.

It is also considerably less expensive than the Bay Area. People wanting out of the bay area real estate craziness frequently go there. The differential has decreased in the last few years, btw, but it is still significant.
