I wish him well too, but Lance was not a completely innocent victim. He used his handicap to his advantage as well.

I've heard from other players on the team that played with Allred that he would intentionally turn away from Majerus when Majerus would be explaining to the players where they needed to be on the floor for certain plays. Allred could communicate just fine because he could lip read.

One particular player has said that he is not fond of Majerus at all, but Allred tried to use deafness as an excuse to not be coached. That was what bothered Majerus more than anything.

Majerus treated Allred horribly, not doubt about it, but in a way, I can understand why he'd go off on a guy who needed to lip read in order to communicate.

I hope that Allred is a miserable failure. Of all the scholarships the Utes have wasted over the years, none was a bigger waste than Allred.

Maybe he will be able to buy his puppy some new clothes with his new job. Perhaps he can even get him a new bow.

I will stop short of repeating Majerus' insults to him, but that is only for the purpose of tact.

I'm trying to decide how I'd feel if this kid had been a Cougar and acted the same way.

Don't see myself getting as worked up about it (especially years later) as funk is.

I'm just stating an apt comparison between the two rivals, not being specific about anyone in particular. When Ngata signed with Oregon, there were loads of zoobs who would have loved to see him struck dead.
