Baron Davis opts out of his contract with Golden State. Where is NorCal Cat when you want to laugh at him.

It'll be interesting to see if he signs with Detroit, because his game is not consistant with their style of play. Although maybe with Curry as the coach the style is changing.

Brand and Magette. That could be a decent team if they both come back. Doubtful though as they both opted out of contracts.

The Jazz have apparently reached out to Mags to gauge his interest in coming to Utah. I know Utah has a log-jam at the 2-3, but I wonder if they could do a sign and trade with LA. One thing Mags has that no other Jazz player does (save maybe Deron Williams) is an incredible ability to get to the FT line. Depending on what Utah had to give up to get Mags, a line up of:

PG: Deron
SG: Mags
SF: AK
PF: Boozer
C: Okur

with a bench of:
PG: Price, Hart
Wings: Korver, Brewer, Harpring, Almond*
Bigs: Millsap, Collins, Koufos*, Fessenko*

*D-League assigned

They are still weak on interior defense, but offensively that is a scary team.

And that pipe dream is apprently over, since it looks like Mags may sign with SA for the Mid-Level.

Looks like Boston offered Mags their MLE also.

But it was a nice dream.

I like Maggette. I wish he were a Laker. He and Kobe are tight and I know Kobe has tried to get him in purple and gold for awhile.

Before Duke played Florida one year Brand climbed up a ladder during the shoot around and put a handprint on the backboard. He then pulled Maggette aside and told him that a greasy gator had ruined his backboard. So being a freshman Maggette went and looked for a ladder to clean the backboard and Brand told him, "No. Not like that."

So during the game Maggette threw down a nasty dunk, did a pull up on the rim and swiped the backboard clean.

Not if Elton Brand signs with Golden State and Shaun Livingston takes off as well.
