1. The first one. That was enough for me.

I also saw the second and third movies. Also enough for me.

Yikes.

Someday, half the country is going to admit that those books are not that great and you will find thousands of copies of HP books in bargain bins all over the nation.....it will be like the mass-backlash against the Hootie and The Blowfish "Cracked Rear View" CD.

I love the movies, but now I just don't see a point in reading the books.

I only got it because I needed a 10th CD to fulfill my Columbia House order.

Read the first one, saw the first three movies, then met my wife (one of the only females I know that doesn't like Harry Potter) and lost any steam I had for the books or movies. I still haven't seen the 4th or 5th movies.

Haven't read any of the books, nor have I seen any of the movies.

I'm waiting for movies about The Boxcar Kids series.

Good old Hootie and the Blowfish. I remember that CD vividly. I think it was a Christmas gift from my parents when I was 11-12. I wonder if I still have it.

If you want a quick rundown of the second movie....

A terrible monster is threatening to destroy the school where all the kids live. After obtaining some vital clues from a female ghost that hangs out in the communal bathroom, Harry and Friends discover that the monster is a really long snake that sneaks in and out of the school through the toilet.

And no, I am not making this up.

Harry Potter: Encouraging kids to read, but giving them a fear of being potty trained.

It sounds like I need to watch that movie for the unintentional laughs. If they're all that funny, perhaps I'll reconsider.
