Default Banning James Blunt...

For those that are nauseated by the song 'You're beautiful', it is nice to see a radio station stand up against a popular yet stunningly horrific voiced song and man. James Blunt's music is no longer available from this station: http://www.nme.com/news/james-blunt/23184

I am probably too harsh, but how bad is a song where the singer has this crummy voice and sings about a girl that he saw on a street? Save us all. What happened to all of the crummy voices that sang great songs like the Violent Femmes, Midnight Oil and Bob Dylan? Nothing worse than a crummy voice and crummy songs.

When I read this article this morning, I thought to myself, "Who the hell is James Blunt?" I can't name a single contestant on American Idol either. I am getting old.

He is the first British solo artist to hit #1 on the US charts since Elton John.

I can't name one song sung by him, but I actually like his voice.

I like voices such as Jim Croce, Joan Baez and all those raspy voices.

Now, ballad singers with raspy voices are the best, but musicians don't tend to write balads any more, or do they?

Kris Kristoferson sang them once.

If you enjoy singers with raspy voices, can I guess that Burt Bacharach makes you swoon?

Bacharach has written several hits throughout many decades, but he rarely sings them, as he sounds like he's gargling with Draino while he sings.
