Default My YM basketball team was robbed today

I won't bore you with all the details....the Spanish-speaking ward that won the tourney, also runs the tourney and provides all the refs. All the calls went their way in not one game, but two games. In the second game they threw out our star after their player stood up and hit him and our player glared at him. "Double technical."

I briefly thought about telling my team to walk off the floor, because we weren't going to participate in this sort of travesty. And I'm not one to whine about calls.

I'm not going to coach again, 100% guaranteed. Too much time, too much aggravation, too many whiny players who stink and don't hustle complaining about going to the bench, cheating refs. I have better things to do.

I coulda been a contender.

I was wondering, does 4 games in row, 5 games in 1 day, and 6 in 2 days sound excessive to you guys?

I think it was excessive.

It does. And I'm quite sure that Church ball refs have contributed to some of the worst sports experiences I've ever had. They are often hypersensitive, egotistical, and incompetent.

I wonder who is worse, relatively, church ball ref's as ref's or church ball players as basketball players? hmmm....

I'm amazed at how refs get treated in church ball. I don't know why anyone would even want to ref.

I was once reffing a youth basketball church ball game. After getting a foul called him a kid told me I sucked as a ref. I told him he sucked as a player. I guess that fits in with SIEQ's description of arrogance in ref's, though...

Are you talking church refs or MWC refs?

I used to be way more critical of the referees until I took a turn behind the whistle. Talk about a tough gig. Very few players ever think they commit any violations. And the whining... And this stuff did not even count. There is no way in the world that I have skin thick enough to do it again.

I am surprised that they can get people to fill the thankless job of officiating. I would think that this would be one of the areas where there would be a need for more immigration to fill these jobs. No one else should take it.
