Default United 93

I just watched this movie. It was really tough to watch. It brought back all of the feelings from that day. I had forgotten how raw and confusing that day was and this movie brought it back vividly. Things changed so much after 9/11 it is hard to remember what preoccupations we had before it happened. It's also bewildering how we were caught with our pants down around our ankles, with system wide failures.

United 93 was well done, tight, and stark, but not for the faint of heart. Inspirational and horrible.

Default I haven't seen it.

Probably I won't for the same reason I won't see The Passion. I'm just not anxious to have an emotional beating.

I've seen them both and don't blame you one bit. I went to both films in the theater and each time I sat next to people eating popcorn. That felt wrong to me for some reason.

Emotional masturbation is not my favorite activity. It might Oprah's but not mine.

Catharsas has a purpose, masturbating does not.

Agreed. It was very well done. I was appreciative that it just told the story without politicizing it.

It did bring back a lot of memories. With all the terrible news that day, if there was a bright spot, it was that United 93 didn't get to it's target.

I haven't allowed my kids to see this film yet, but may allow the two older ones (ages 14 and 12) to see it soon. It's a piece of history that should never be forgotten and teenagers may need to see a story that involves true heroes rather than unimportant celebrities and athletes.

It should work as a very powerful document for the kids to see when they grow a little older. I will show it to mine when they are a little older to let them know what was happening.

Yes. Our two oldest now know what happened though they really don't understand why something like that would happen. Fortunately, they were too young to have really been affected by it.
